Homeowners Want The Great Outdoors To Come To Them

Homeowners Want The Great Outdoors To Come To Them

According to a recent report, 82% of American homeowners are taking an active interest in updating their outdoor spaces this year. This trend is not surprising in a year that has seen more outdoor socializing in all kinds of weather than ever before. With a decline in COVID on the horizon, the fears of getting together can dissolve while the joys of doing so al fresco hold strong.

For many homeowners, outdoor space has been a gateway to fresh air, a place to work out, a safe zone for socially distant gatherings, a space to raise kids and pets, and more. While public spaces have been largely inaccessible, the importance of having a sanctuary on one’s own property has grown significantly – and will remain so, even post-pandemic.

For some home designers, this means bringing indoor spaces outside. Patios can act as living rooms with luxurious, plush outdoor furniture, fireplaces, even outdoor television and entertainment set-ups. Other designers are exploring the concept of the outdoor kitchen. Fridges, stovetops, cabinet doors, attractive lighting panels, and more are available for outdoor use. They can be weatherproofed to ensure a long lifetime. Interestingly, those polled in the report ranked durability over bargains when dreaming up their outdoor living spaces.
